Many companies begin from humble, if not meager, beginnings, and Messer Landscape, Inc. is a prime example of this. In March 1980, Buel Messer and his two sons, Charles and Michael, started offering lawn services to 15 homes in their neighborhood using little more than a small riding lawn mower and a few tools. Since its founding, the company’s range of operations have increased tremendously. Initially, the primary services provided were property maintenance, including mowing, pruning, and leaf removal. Over the years, an increasing demand for landscape installations prompted MLI to expand into both residential and commercial landscape projects including hardscaping projects.
Buel Messer retired in February 2009 and his longtime business manager, Linda Siegfried, took over ownership and the day-to-day management of the company. Linda retired in 2020 turning over the business to her son Chris White who continues to retain key long-term, experienced employees like Andres Figueroa Vasquez, Andrew Fields and Jacob Glover. The office is kept in order by Katina Lawson with Linda providing assistance when needed. The management staff has been recently expanded to include Blake Owen.
From the six blocks where their original clients lived, Messer Landscape, Inc. (MLI) now serves customers throughout the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. We continue our commitment to ensuring our new and old customers remain satisfied with our landscaping and maintenance services.
